9th Annual Day on The River Great Success!
We held the 9th Annual Day on The River in the turning basin so we could all see how nice it will be when The Floathouse (boat and board rental center) floats there, making “every day a day on the river”. Hundreds joined us. In multiple types of watercraft, people young and old, experienced and otherwise, all plied the waterway, both upriver and down, under both the Balshaw and D Street bridges. We kept watch in a motored launch, but witnessed not a single mishap. Many participants stayed from 10 am to 2 pm! The docks were manned by volunteers from our partners, including The Guideboat Company in Mill Valley, Wind Toys in Santa Rosa, He’e Nalu Hawaiian outrigger canoe club, North Bay Rowing Club, Clavey Paddlesports and Petaluma SUP. The Hill Williams Band lent us member David Franklin, who played the banjo in a masterful manner on the River Plaza side. Thank you, one and all! Tickets for our River Access Raffle went on sale for the first time this summer at Day on The River, and will be available at Clavey, PSUP, and Mail Depot.
